J was so excited to receive Roxy, a playful and interactive Zoomer Zuppies puppy by SpinMaster, because he had been asking us to get him on for a while. He loves dogs and had been talking about how the Zoomer Zuppies would play along with him!
I was surprised, because I didn’t realize all of the things the Zoomer Zuppies could do! Roxy is colorful and poseable. Her small size makes her great for kids, as she is easy to carry and take along in the car. The Zoomer Zuppies come in a variety of colors, like Spot, Roxy, Scarlet and Candy.
There are four buttons and sensors on Roxy that facilitate interactive play: Head touch sensors, back button, nose button and chest sensors. The toy also has LED eyes that display different emotions and modes of game play.
You can care for your zuppies by tapping or rubbing the head sensor, pressing its nose or moving your hands in front of the chest sensor. The more you play with your zuppies the happier they become. Their eyes change based on their mood, and by pressing and holding the back button you can see the happiness level displayed on the LED screens. When Roxy is unhappy we need to interact with her more to bring her happiness level up. The zuppies can perform tricks, and the more you play with them the more tricks they reveal!
There’s more fun than just caring for your zuppies though, they come with 5 different game play activities:
Music Play – This is J’s favorite. Roxy plays music, and by using the zuppies sensors you can change and play instruments and sounds.
Pixel Smash – This is a game that is played by using your hand and the chest sensor. The goal is to clear all of the balls on the top row. This is my personal favorite, it is a lot of fun and easy to play!
Higher Lower – is a dice game, you play against your zuppies to get the higher number.
Fast Hands – Fast hands is a Simon Says type game, where the zuppies display instructions on their LED display and kids are challenged to follow the instructions by touching different sensors.
Guard Mode – In guard mode the zuppies will bark and growl when they detect movement on their chest sensors.
The Zoomer Zuppies were a huge hit, and I like them because there are so many activities it is easy to keep the kids interested. The Zuppies also teach nuturing skills, as they become happier and learn new tricks when they are cared for and played with. It’s a great way to teach younger kids about the importance of paying attention to a pet.
