Nickelodeon announced today the launch of a new preschool storytelling app, Dora and Friends, inspired by the recently launched Dora and Friends: Into the City! TV series, where the iconic character is now at the center of a peer group having real-life and magical adventures in the fictional city of Playa Verde. The new app lets kids create their ownDora and Friends stories by choosing from an array of backgrounds, music tracks and characters from the new TV show, like Kate, Naiya and Pablo.
Kids can choose from ten locations from the series, including the Arco Iris Cafe, the magical cave and the beach; dozens of props like cameras, microphones and blankets; and several Latin-influenced musical tracks from the series to help bring the scene of their own creation to life. Users also can create up to four customized friends and select different hairstyles, facial features, outfits and even names, as well as record their own voices which can be incorporated into the story.
