As a child I had so many stuffed animals, however there is one that stands out in my mind, Paddington Bear my Nanny bought me while on a shopping trip at Macy’s. Eventually my collection of Paddington Bears and books grew and are safely tucked away for safe keeping (until Gia gets out of the lipstick, and ripping pages phase of life).
We were invited by The Moms to a screening of The Paddington Movie sponsored by Norwegian Cruise line. I was eager to share my love for Paddington with my little girl in hopes we would share a love for Paddington together, mission accomplished!
Arriving late, thanks to NYC traffic on a snowy day we were able to catch a glimpse of Nicole Kidman herself, before the talkback. Nicole was gorgeous, in her stylish leopard shoes, and black pant suit standing much taller than I had imagined.
We were treated to a special talkback with Nicole Kidman prior to the movie and we learned a thing or two about Nicole as a mom. Nicole plays a villain in the movie and for the littles who are not familiar with pretend and real life I’m glad we were introduced to her prior to the screening.
The adventure begins as the Brown family finds the bear alone at Paddington Station and against Mr. Brown and their hormonal teenage daughters advice they take him home. From the moment Paddington arrives in their home, chaos ensues for the Brown family and the laughs could be heard outside the theater from moms and kids alike.
The movie reinforces lessons we teach or should be teaching our children of today. Always mind your manners, and family comes above anything. More importantly the Paddington movie proves you do not have to be born into a family to become a family. I loved the movie and I am looking forward to taking my son and husband to see it as well.
I highly recommend Paddington for all ages, it will be opening in theaters on January 16, 2015.
