As I’m sure most moms can relate, I often spend majority of the time behind the lens. Constantly snapping pics of my little people and other loved ones. However unlike most its because I am just not comfortable with the weight I gained and am fighting with to come off. My battle with my current weight has been a private one, until I was asked to participate in a photo shoot with my daughter.
I obviously showed up to Classic Kids Studio without any intention of being in any photos, I figured seeing as Gia loves the camera lets get her in front of it. However, having just woken up from a nap on the ride to the city, Gia was a little hesitant to jump in front of the camera that she adores. Luckily, Lindsay and Wendy put her at ease rather quickly with silly songs, character re-enactments and funny faces. Then Nicole Feliciano of Mom Trends quickly reminded me it was a Moms Love shoot! With little Gia looking up at me with squeels of delight how could I disappoint? Not to mention all the fun she was having with Lindsay and Wendy, despite my reluctance I quickly jumped in on the fun.
Gia is in head to toe Stripes and Blossoms from Zutano, it all works together when your 3! We love the Zutano Spring line, which is in full bloom with bright colors, floral patterns, and encourages play outdoors because it is so comfy. Be sure to take a peek at Zutano’s Spring line yourself and get your littles out to play in comfort and style.
When we received the proofs I was in amazement of the love that was captured. It was then, that I realized my daughter doesn’t see me as I see myself. Gia looked up at me with such loving eyes, I realized she sees me as a hero, a strong female, who she looks up to, and it really inspired me to be present in the wonderful life I am experiencing with both of my children.
Of course I’m not saying my weight concerns have vanished, however I am saying I will no longer let my concerns affect me capturing our memories together.
Thank you Mom Trends, and Classic Kids for the fun photo shoot, and for allowing me to open my eyes and change my view.

I can relate to this post, more than I care to admit. I have been struggling with my weight ever since I gave birth to my second son (four and a half years ago!). I avoid the camera also, and it’s something I have to work on.

Ditto Pamela! Selfies are my bff, otherwise I stand clear of the camera! I don’t love the way I look in the photo, however the way Gia is looking up at me has changed my view quite a bit.

It’s a lovely photo of the two of you. Even though it was a photo shoot, it looks spontaneous. A true keeper!
