Now the smell of Bacon has my kids running down the stairs in the morning, because now it means its time to eat!
Like me I am sure before reading this post you fried your bacon. Which meant before I could cook pancakes, french toast, eggs or anything else the bacon, which took forever on the top of the stove, had to be cooked first. So my kids would smell the bacon and whine and complain because I wouldn’t let them eat it before the rest of breakfast was complete.
Until one morning I woke up, and a lightbulb went off! I thought there has to be another way. So I decided to bake the bacon in the oven. I kick myself wondering why I didn’t think of this sooner?!
I opened the package, laid it out on a cookie sheet, pre-heat the oven to 350. Placed the cookie sheet in the oven for twenty minutes, and while the bacon cooked in the oven I prepared pancakes, eggs, and toasted and buttered bagels. We like to go big for breakfast, because everyone likes something different and we aim to please.
To my family’s surprise just as they all began to smell the bacon I called them to come downstairs and eat.
Look at how crispy that bacon is! YummY! I don’t know if I am more excited that I only had to touch the bacon once to place it on the cookie sheet, the fact that it didn’t shrivel up, or that there is actually some left over for a BLT! Mom is winning this morning! How do you cook your bacon?
