Typical Fashion Week in NY consists of me scanning social media and devouring any glimpse I can of next seasons hot colors, styles, trends, etc. On the occasion I will attend a Fashion Show, but honestly I haven’t been feeling myself as of lately and don’t really focus on fashion so much for me but more for my little people. However this year as I began to scan my emails for highlights, I was given a little more than your typical recaps, courtesy of my partnership with Verizon! With an invitation to BabyGhost Spring NYFW presentation at Milk Studios in my inbox I couldn’t wait to attend.
Qiaoran Huang and Joshua Hupper, the design duo behind Babyghost, presented a Spring collection inspired by a poem about death from the 1940s.
Ironically when one thinks of death, and dying it’s not a subject that rests lightly. However, Babyghost’s creator’s Qiaoran Huang and Joshua Hupper, managed to curate a Spring-friendly collection that’s light, and breathable despite the theme.
Mixing textiles of lace, and sheer fabrics in hues of a neutral palette, with tones of deep blues BabyGhost’s presentation highlighted oversized T-shirts, cropped trenches and chunky cardigans in weightless fabrics.

The inspiration behind the collection, the poem itself, speaks of death as being a friend. Printed on various pieces, from T-shirts to maxi-skirts throughout the Spring collection were lines from the poem. Although you may feel a little eerie, as I said the poem relates to death as a friend and provides a edgy yet dark, contorted element of romance to the collection.
What a great collection and you picked some great pieces to showcase here, nice job Geanine!
Thank you Monica! I loved the collection as well as the inspiration behind it.
I always giggle a little at the things models wear in these fashion shows. They are always really cool/pretty or whatnot, but you literally never see actually people wearing them 🙂
I am not a fashion gal myself, these look like creative ideas though. Something fun and different.
I have no clue what makes good or bad fashion. I’m fashionally challenged! lol!!! I do like the outfit with the poem on it!
I’m clueless when it comes to fashion but those are interesting pieces! More daring than I could pull off!
I am not fashion inclined but these are definitely some very unique pieces! I have never seen a poem on clothing like this before, very cool!
I like some of these pieces but there are a lot only a model can get away with wearing! They are definitely interesting fashion pieces.
What an awesome collection. I like wearing loose and comfortable outfits. I also like the blue and black sleeveless top.
What an awesome collection/line of clothing! I have never heard of them before, would love to own any piece from this collection.
I am into fashion but had to stop buying new clothes since having a kid. I would love to visit #NYFW
I love the long flowy skirts and the flat shoes! I also love the metallic detail!
That is some great fashion! I don’t think I’d wear any of it, but I know plenty who would. They look like some great pieces! NYFW always has some impressive stuff.
I like the two black dresses in the second photo. They’re pretty chic and I do see myself wearing them. The question is, can I afford them? LOL.
Those are some nice outfits. My favorite is the first black almost see-through dress.
I was following NYFW updates on Snapchat and loved what I saw. Looks like a great lineup.
Loving the line up. I’d like to see a fashion show in person. I think it would be fun.
What a wonderful line. I love the shirt with the snake on it, my favorite animal.
I actually never heard of this fashion brand, but the name is definitely captivating. Great collection!
Those are definitely some interesting fashions! Must have been a really good time.
Some of those look comfortable in ways but others just wouldn’t be practical for me. I do like the oversized legged pant look. My favorite is the girl with the two braids in white. I could see myself in that.
NYFW always introduces some interesting styles. I am not sure if I would actually see anyone rocking these looks around town, but then again, I live in Texas. lol
