This past weekend, I was invited by Chrysler to attend the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Having never attended I was impressed and amazed that it indeed was the largest auto show in North America, and a great place to spend the day with your family.
Having arrived before the crowds I was wowed by all the vehicles. Our day began at the Chrysler exhibit where the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan was on deck with a surprise guest waiting inside to play some trivia.

Nick Cannon was his cheery entertaining self as he issued a series of trivia questions about the Chrysler Pacifica and a few other general topics. Naturally everyone on our team won, and we all walked away with a prize of our choice.

Traveling upstairs to the Pacifica Play Zone, led us to whimsical, family friendly artwork from Antonio “Shades” Agee, and an area where parents and children were encouraged to interact with the features of the 2017 Pacifica through games, drills and other STEM learning experiences.

Initially I will admit I thought to myself a minivan? Really?
However, before I set out for Detroit I began to do some research and after viewing a few youtube videos, I was eager to get an up close view of the sexiest minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica.
Chrysler has managed to rebuild the minivan from the ground up and added in a variety of high-tech features to make any parent smile with delight.
My parental favorites are:
- The Stow n’ Go Vacuum, to aid my life and the never ending cheerios, crumbs, and other unimaginable things that show up in between the seats etc.
- The touch free sliding door, and lift gate entry, take a moment and appreciate that. For the all those times when your hands are full of children, grocery bags etc. and you have dug in your oversized bag, looking for the keys.
- The mornings mom gets to sneak out and actually do a shopping excursion, estate sale etc on her own, you have the ability to Stow n’ Go the seating as well! Easily converting your minivan from a 7 or 8 passenger (depending on Hybrid or not) to accommodate all your lucky finds.
As for the kids, Chrysler has clearly made road trips a more enjoyable experience, along with saving our ears from the constant are we there yet?!
With the inclusion of the UConnect Theater, a 10.1-inch touchscreen in the front row seat-backs, pre-loaded with apps, and games. The Pacifica possesses the most technologically advanced entertainment in its segment with wireless connectivity, you have the option to beam movies/content from your iPhone, or iPad to the touch-screens, as well as connect via HDMI cable. Basically the Pacifica has all the comforts of home, with the addition of 4 wheels.
Not to have the parentals feel left out there is also a 8.4-inch touchscreen interface in the dashboard with GPS, smartphone integration, optional a must have wifi hotspot, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.
If you are in the market for a hybrid, the Pacifica is the world’s first offering 7 seats, and 30 miles all electric driving range and transitions between electric/gas seamlessly.

OMG, it comes with a vacuum?????? Based on that alone, I would get this. I do drive a minivan and don’t have very many bells and whistles.

I’ll have to check this car out. We’re in the market for a new car and would prefer a 7 seater.

Isn’t that show awesome? I lived in the Detroit area for 12 years and worked for an advertising agency that had mostly automotive clients. We got tickets to the auto show every year. It’s just amazing!
