Our weekends are just as busy as our weekdays. Only difference is we tend to do less work and more play. So after 2 hours of dance in the city we drove through the Holland Tunnel to my sons favorite museum to explore the MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition at Liberty Science Center which is on display through Sept. 4.
Curious blogger family truth-seekers of all ages put urban myths and more to the test at the MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition, event last weekend with Momtrends. Based on the real-life operations room of the MythBusters’ iconic set, this exhibition is filled with gadgets, props, video and blueprints used by the hosts to explore myths on the show.
In The Workshop, we engaged in real hands-on experiments with real results. My children and I tested over a dozen topics expanding upon the myths seen on MythBusters, such as:
Butter Side Up: Does it always seem that a dropped piece of toast lands butter side down? You have to try the experiment on your own, we can’t giveaway the end result.
Big Bad Wolf: The “Three Little Pigs” fairy tale told us that the Big Bad Wolf was incapable of blowing down a house of bricks. How do the bricks really stack up? This girl is too smart, she stood by and watched the boys including her dad fail several times before she attempted herself.
Running in the Rain: Will running, rather than walking, in the rain really keep you drier? Hmm, my kids tried both, which do you think kept them drier? I can not give away the end results. That would take away all the fun for you!
If you have curious little ones, or you are curious yourself to bust a few myths on your own I recommend you plan for a day to visit the Liberty Science Center. There are so many fun activities to keep you and your family busy!
MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition will be at Liberty Science Center through September 4, 2017. It is available with the purchase of a Combination Pass ($27.75 for adults, $24.75 for seniors 62+, and $22.75 for children ages 2-12). For more information, visit LSC.org.
