SeaWorld San Diego with @The MOMS

Being a Mom is amazing, nothing else in my life has brought me so much joy.  However, there are times where I have the opportunity to leave the little ones behind and as any mom who needs a break, I take it!

Recently, I traveled with Melissa Gerstein of The MOMS for a fun filled exclusive behind-the-scenes day at SeaWorld^® .  I am very familiar with the brand and their rescue program.   Which is a primary example of the passion SeaWorld has for the lives of all animals, having rescued more than 17,000 animals over the history of the park, and all the SeaWorld parks have rescued more than 30,000 animals in the last 50 years.

Naturally there were tiny pulls at our hearts that we had left our littles behind, but those quickly went away when we enjoyed our day just as much without tending to the littles needs. SeaWorld and The MOMS planned out a day filled with exclusive activities and adventures for both kids and the parentals to each enjoy.

ORCA ENCOUNTER

The first ever orca encounter Orca experience of its kind captivated our entire group! Witnessing live natural orca behaviors up close while an expansive infinity screen brought their story to life combined a digital and real life experience we all enjoyed.  We learned fun facts like Orcas eat up to 500 pounds of food a day.  Their diet is also quite the variety and includes fish, sea lions, penguins, squid, sea turtles, and more, and guess what?! They swallow their food whole! Learning of their behaviors, hunting techniques and complex communication codes gave me a deeper understanding of the sea’s mightiest, most magnificent animals.

Meet and Greets for me are usually with a celebrity and tons of paparazzi, and everyone just wanting a selfie.  This looked pretty much the same, only the moms were the paparazzi.  Penguins, beavers, and sloths oh my! Yes they were all in attendance and the kids couldn’t get enough of them. Of course I was right along with them, and little Turtle was adorable.

Ocean Explorers

Although we didn’t bring any actually bring young explorers we totally dove into Ocean Explorer and unlocked a few of  the ocean’s deepest mysteries.

Sea Lions Live 

This show is a must see! Entertainment from both Biff and sea lions Clyde & Seamore will have you clapping and moving in your seat. Biff is hysterical re-enacting family-favorites TV and music spoofs, don’t take my word for it, go ahead and follow him on social media.

I enjoyed SeaWorld San Diego so much I am headed back this week with my family! With kids who are interested in saving the world, I am eager to share SeaWorld San Diego with them. They come to the aid of 300-400 marine animals every year (sea lions, seals, dolphins, whales, sea turtles and sea birds), and every visitor to their park helps  in being able to have one of the most robust rescue programs in the world.
