Don’t look now but somewhere between the end of the school year and mid Summer I became a sports mom? Say what?! How did this happen? Once vowed never to be that over bearing soccer mom, I am trying my best to not hover and become a helicopter mom while I wait poolside or mat side.
From swim lessons, swim team tryouts, gymnastics, play dates and visits to the park we have found ourselves going from one activity to the next. One child is usually passing out in the car from exhaustion and dehydration while the other is finishing up the days tasks of school packets, while en route to the next outdoor activity. This is what the Summer of a Mom with two very active kids looks like.
Naturally if ignored, all of these activities leave my kids dehydrated. As parents we are always hearing we need to replenish their electrolytes when they are active. Those who are unaware would naturally add sugary sports drinks that claim to replenish electrolytes to their diets. I am just as guilty.
Luckily, I was introduced to BODYARMOR a premium sports drink with potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins – and has no artificial flavors or sweeteners (MOM WIN). BODYARMOR provides superior hydration and comes in 9-great tasting flavors: fruit punch, orange mango, strawberry banana, tropical punch, blackout berry, mixed berry, grape, watermelon strawberry and lemonade (my kids favorite).
Of course my kids never read labels, and therefore they are unaware of how good BODYAMOR is for them. They just love the taste and I love the fact that BODYARMOR is a better alternative to traditional sports drinks, because it doesn’t contain any artificial flavors or sweeteners and has vitamins and coconut water. Yep Coconut water, and the kids can not tell the difference. And it is the perfect drink to replenish electrolytes.
BODYARMOR is the brand of choice for athletes and has assembled an impressive team of young, superstar athletes such as James Harden, Mike Trout, Dustin Johnson, Andrew Luck, Richard Sherman, Dez Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Buster Posey, Skylar Diggins and several others. Since my little athletes started drinking BODYARMOR they have also turned their Double Gold Junior Olympics cousin into a fan as well! As a pre-teen female Gianna Bam Bam Cilenti trains 6 days a week in Judo, MMA, Karate, basketball, and softball, clearly dehydration is not an option!
Well you now know what we reach for when packing our cooler before heading out to training for my little athletes, so tell us what are you packing? Do you have little athletes in training? Not just during summer training, but all training! You’d be surprised with how quickly you lose water!

Agreed! And the temperature has been in the high 90s to low 100s here of late. We def. are staying hydrated (or else, headaches, nausea, dizziness, you name it!).

Hydration is so important for all ages! I try my best to keep on top of hydration and make sure the kids are getting enough to drink during the day. I tend to get an awful headache when I don’t get enough fluids. This sounds like a great drink, especially since it doesn’t have artificial sweeteners.

The BodyArmor Premium Sports Drinks are an awesome and healthier way to stay hydrated during the summer months. Strawberry banana my sons love to drink and choose these drinks over pop even. The watermelon strawberry is my favorite one. Thanks for sharing the awesome information.

We have not tried this brand but I like that it has ingredients I can read and the flavors sounds great too.
