Disclosure: We attended a Media Day at Liberty Science Center to explore for the new Jack Horner’s Dino Dig Exhibit all opinions are my own and honest.
This Summer we have been busy keeping our littles occupied and off of their devices. With invites for day trips and traveling to visit family and go on fun adventures, we are always open to something new. We ventured out to Liberty Science Center for a day of exploration and digging. Having a boy who is obsessed with learning everything about dinosaurs we were all too excited to attend.
I personally think I failed paleontologist school, as I was a little too aggressive trying to extract the bones. However in the end it all worked out and we all learned patience are definitely needed for some tasks.
Our day at the Liberty Science Center highlighted the new Jack Horner’s Dino Dig exhibit where my little explorers dug for fossils and explored key concepts in science, math, and engineering, which are woven throughout the exhibit. The exhibit is located outdoors, and is covered by a tent, so need worrying about the sun beating down on you. There are over 50 fossils buried big and small to be unearthed by the kids’ using the paintbrush provided. Many of the over 50 bones, including a 72-inch long Triceratops skull, will protrude from the ground as if “weathering out,” and new species have been added.
While the kids enjoyed digging, I had the experience of the most beautiful New York view. Win, Win! Oh and the kids also learned so much about the dinosaurs, secret mom win?! Heck yeah! You know I love when we mix learning with play.
Of course dinosaurs are not the only thing to discover at the Liberty Science Center, don’t forget to also check out the Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition, Illusion
