Long gone are the days when Spring Break planning meant a zyrtec to knock me out for the plane ride to my destination. These days it takes careful planning to ensure not only my family but everyone on the plane has a enjoyable experience.
Here are my top five necessities (in no specific order) that rest assured passengers will be in our Paddlepak, for our flight to Tampa this weekend.
1. Yondi. Moms I know you can relate to long car rides, plane rides etc, constantly having to adjust your child falling neck. I swear I am on constant neck patrol. My daughter drops her head like its no ones business just as she becomes one with the back of her eye lids. When I was introduced to the Yondi at Toy Fair I all but begged and jumped for joy for this creation! Basically its a neck pillow for littles. Yondi is a specially designed travel pillow that connects under the chin with hidden magnets to form a soft and supportive cushion. This stops your child’s head rolling forward so they can snooze in comfort. Leaving passenger moms all over the roads, and sky to once and for all enjoy that novel they are eager to finish.
2. Ekids.com character headphones. I remember as a child my mom never let us use headphones because she swore we would eventually go deaf! As a mom I worry about this also, but would never admit that to my mom, and gladly she isn’t internet savvy so I’m in the clear. With Ekids headphones my worries are no more because they have volume control so not only will my kid not go deaf but also he can still hear me when I’m calling him.
- High quality headphones
- Kid-friendly sound levels protect hearing
- Adjustable headband
- Character graphics and styling
- Connect to any audio device
- Soft, comfortable fit
3. Crayola Color Alive! I as well as the kids enjoy coloring it is so relaxing, and Crayola definitely kicks it up a notch with Color Alive by literally bringing our creations to life. Also we can join in on the action, by downloading the app to our iPad or android device, by posing with pictures and interacting with our creations as well.
4. Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes. Lets get real Wet Ones are a life saver at any time any place of day. They live in my bag always. Cleaning up a up mess in seconds, is awesome. However killing 99.99% of germs and bacteria while cleaning a face, hands (a thumb in particular), a toilet seat or any thing else you throw their way is priceless. Yes our little one is a thumb sucker!
5. Of course we need somewhere to store all these fun necessities and no ordinary bag will do. We will be storing all our must haves in a Paddlepak. A Paddlepak for those unfamiliar with it, is a water resistant kids backpack that’s perfect for fun-filled days out and trips to the pool or beach! Paddlepak’s are made from lightweight and durable material and is big enough to fit everything listed above which my little one needs for a fun-filled family vacation. They are available in a variety of characters and sizes.
Of course we couldn’t just dangle all of these fab items in your face, and leave you with nothing. I am going to be doing a long haul in a few weeks by myself. Last time I flew back home from California to Newfoundland, Canada it was 23 hours door to door (mainly with an 8 hour stop over) but the flights combined equalled 10 hours flying. Rough stuff. I think I’m going to do a similar post to you I love these sorts of ideas! I really need to start brining Wet One’s with me on trips… some of the stuff in airports/planes are just gross.

Awh we got a Trunki Paddle Pak last year, the Nemo fish one 🙂 We used it on our holiday to Portugal and it was great! I loved how handy it was for bringing to the beach and pool area and how fun it was for my little guy too 🙂

Oh how I wish I would have read this before our trip to Florida a few months ago. I was so stressed about my boys’ first flight that I packed WAY too much stuff. Oh well. I think you are so right with what you recommended…from the wipes to the art supplies!

We aren’t planning on traveling anywhere requiring a flight, but we will be making a few trips via the car. These items will make it a much better trip for the kiddos. My little guy needs a Yondi. Thanks for the recommendation.

One of the really cool things about technology these days is the ability to keep kids entertained during long trips, gone are the days of ‘Are we there yet?’ when they are totally engrossed and a game or movie!

These are great must haves for traveling with the kids! Long flights are hard on adults I can only imagine how hard they would be on little ones who don’t understand why they are on a plane. The baby carriers seem to it a lot easier on parents.

Oh, I can’t even imagine trying to fly with a little one in tow… While I hope to have that “worry” one day, I’m certain it’s a stressful experience! Thanks so much for sharing these must-haves so that I’ll be ready when the time comes… I’ll definitely be sharing this with my sister in law who has 3 under 3!

Your list is spot on for traveling with little ones. I remember I had a list saved on my computer and every year I would take some things off of it, like the diapers at some point, the bottles, and so on. Brings back nice memories of when the kids were babies 🙂

These products look awesome! The paddlepaks are so cute and the Yondi is a road trip necessity.

Its so important to be prepared when traveling with kids! We made sure to have lots of things for my toddler to do on our most recent flight. Food was ultimately what kept him “busy” for most of the flight.

I used to take Zyrtec, but I took it for allergies and it didn’t knock me out. I gave up cane sugar years ago and it seems that is what caused all or most of my allergies.
By The way I always have wipes with me you never know when you might need them.

I like the Paddpak- great for trips to water parks no worrying about getting items wet.

When traveling with monsters you really have to make sure you have all the necessities. I make sure to leave wipes in every bag I own. My 4 year old would freak over those spidey headphones.

I have to say that is a generous and fun giveaway! Thanks for sharing that. I need to think about what pack my family needs to put together once we go hiking again. 🙂

My grandchildren and I take trips to the coast during the summer and this would be ideal to take along! My favorite is the Yondi, it would be perfect for my youngest grandson who sleeps on almost every road trip. His poor little neck gets sore even with traditional pillows so he would greatly appreciate this instead! Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea with us!

A Paddlepack seems like such a great idea. My boys are constantly getting messy and spilling stuff and I hate carrying flimsy plastic bags around. Thanks for giving this busy mom a heads up about a great product!

The Yondi really helps because the worst thing that can happen is finding ourselves complain about a stiff neck or shoulder pains after a long trip. This travel pillow looks so comfortable and it’s a must-have for everyone. Having a water resistant backpack for kids sounds awesome. This is ideal for beach destinations.

Oh the Trunki Paddle Pak is so fab! We have the Nemo fish design and brought it on our holiday to Portugal last year. It was so handy for bringing down to the pool and the beach and I loved that we could keep our room key in the zipped pocket in the tail. These are really great essentials for flights with little ones.

I totally love the booksack. We are doing an overseas trip and I have been searching all over the place for something like this to travel with because I can’t carry all the kids things. Too exhausting. I appreciate this list. Thank you so much!

Great and practical traveling tips especially those traveling with kids. I can just imagine how full can the baggage get but still missing some important things if moms do not plan ahead or at least make a list of the must haves or things to bring. Gotta love the Yondi! It looks really comfortable and perfect for traveling (we know how kids easily snooze when traveling).

What a great set for traveling! My husband and I love traveling, and as such, we’re determined to keep up our adventures once we have a bigger family. Your recommendations will definitely come in use then. 🙂 I love the idea of the yondi – a comfortable child is a happy child, and that can make all the difference in whether you can go out and explore your vacation spot, or have to deal with a tantrum under less-desirable circumstances (having traveled with relatives’ kids). And the PaddlePak is just too adorable! Love the water-resistance!
